About us

Russian Chitin Society is a voluntary, self-governed, non-profit Society of scientists and experts, citizens of Russian Federation. The Society was organized for realization of common interests and manual goals.

Society Founders are both natural and juridical persons. Society can become a founder or a member of other public Societies in Russian Federation and abroad.

    Society has the right to enter International Societies, to acquire rights and fulfill the duties, corresponding the status of these organizations. Society also can:
  • support direct international contacts and relationship;
  • make agreements with foreign non-profit and non-governmental organizations;
  • found its own branches and representative office in foreign countries.

Society has the right to possess own hymn and place own symbols on flags, emblems, etc.

Russian Chitin Society is the Society of scientists from different fields: academical, branch-wise and educational, specialists in the field of industry, medicine and agriculture, developing production, investigation, modification and utilization of chitin, chitosan and chitinases and also juridical persons – public associations, academies, unions and associations of scientists and technique representatives, other public organizations working at the territory of Russian Federation and supporting investigations in the field of chitin and chitosan.

    The main purposes of Society are the following:
  • integration of efforts of Russian and foreign specialists in the field of investigation and application of chitin & chitosan:
  • coordination of fundamental and applied scientific investigations having priority for Russia;
  • summarizing and transfer of the information about chitin & chitosan investigations
  • study of new of sources of raw materials base for chitin & chitosan production;
  • working up of manuals and recommendations;
  • production of reagents and standards;
  • collaboration with foreign chitin Societies and relative organizations;
  • elaboration of normative documentation for products with chitin, chitosan & their modifications;
  • support of patent work on chitin & chitosan in Russian Federation and abroad;
  • organization and realization of national, regional and international chitin & chitosan conferences;
  • distribution of information about Society, publications of periodical issues and in electronic form.
