Several areas exhibiting the most promise for fundamental
and practical studies of chitin and chitosan are considered. Much attention of
researchers is given to medico-biological problems, agricultural aspects,
nanocomposites, latest physico-chemical methods for analysis these biopolymers,
as well as to numerous aspects of practical usage of chitin and chitosan.
More 80 papers by scientists engaged in chitinology from Russia, Ukraine,
Uzbekistan are included into this volume. It is intended for researchers,
students and for practical workers in different fields of medicine, agriculture,
cosmetics, food and fish industries
